What is new about the iPhone 7 that we have not seen before?

• The iPhone 7 is water and dust resistant of IP67 rating.
• You can now possess a black iPhone, the iPhone 7.
• The home button uses the 3D technology instead of the mechanical one, which means that you can perform many different tasks through that button.
• Apple dropped off the 3.5mm headphone jack.
• The stereo speakers are located at the top and bottom of the phone.
• Storage capacity is up to 256 GB.
• Wireless headphones that can connect to all of your devices through iCloud.

And do not worry, Apple provided an adapter for the traditional headphones!

iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus review

The official date for releasing the iPhone 7 is September 16, and you can pre-order it starting from September 9.

Screen and design

The screen is 25% brighter.

• Screen of the iPhone 7: 4.7 inches, Retina, 750 × 1334 pixels of pixel density 326 ppi.
• Screen of the iPhone 7 Plus: 5.5 inches, Retina, 1080 × 1920 pixels of pixel density 401 ppi.
• 3D technology is still available on screen.
• iPhone 7 colors: Rose gold, Gold, Silver, Black and Jet black.
• iPhone 7 Plus colors: Rose gold, Gold, Silver, Black and Jet black.
• The design is not different from the design of the iPhone 6.
• You will not find the 3.5mm headphone jack as usual, and the user can now use the lightning charging port to connect wired headphones.
• The home button incorporates with 3D technology.
• The iPhone 7 weighs 138 grams while the iPhone 7 Plus weighs 188 grams.
• They both support a Nano-SIM only and the Micro-SIM cannot fit.

Storage capacity

The limited capacity is considered a huge problem for many iPhone users, taking into consideration that it does not support adding an external storage.

• iPhone 7 available storage capacities are 32 GB, 128 GB and 256 GB.
• iPhone 7 Plus available storage capacities are 32 GB, 128 GB and 256 GB.
• The Jet black color is only available with 128 GB and 256 GB storage capacities.

It is good that the storage capacities have been upgraded, yet, we noticed that the 16 GB and 64 GB versions are not available! It goes without saying that the price of the iPhone will increase with the increase of the storage capacity.

Performance

With the new processor of the iPhone 7, you can process raw photos using the Lightroom application.

• Apple is counting on the A10 fusion quad-core processor to provide a more powerful performance than the previous one, the A9 processor, which is 40% faster.
• Apple has promised a balance between performance and the battery consumption which means a prolonged battery life.
• The graphics are improved up to almost 50%.
• The operating system is iOS 10.

Battery

• Apple announced that the battery of the iPhone 7 lasts 2 hours longer than the iPhone 6s.
• The iPhone 7 Plus battery is expected to last almost an hour longer than the iPhone 6s Plus.

What about the iPhone 7 cameras?

The OIS is three times faster with the duplication of the flash intensity.

• The rear camera is of a 12 MP quality, with OIS feature which is of great significance to capture pictures without shaking.
• Digital zoom up to more than 5X.
• The rear camera is expected to become more efficient than the earlier version with a faster sensor.
• Quad-LED true tone flash.
• The front-facing camera is of a 7 MP quality, and is also supported with the autofocus feature.

What about the iPhone 7 Plus cameras?

• The rear camera (double camera) is more developed, supported with a double lens and is said to be the best smart phone camera until now. But experience will eventually validate the claim soon enough.
• The digital zoom is more than 10X.
• It supports the OIS feature.
• You can also take a picture of yourself at home and then change the background with any other background you like and the results is near professional.
• The front-facing camera is of quality 7 MP with flash and video recording quality of 1080p.

Video recording

• Record 4k videos.
• It can record videos of quality 1080p @30fps or 60fps.
• It can record videos of quality 720p @30fps.
• It supports OIS feature.
• Slow motion video of quality 1080p @120fps or 720p @240fps.
• It supports time-lapse video recording.
