By: Sarah Ammar & Yara El-Hemaily

Most houses suffer from nuisances like getting processed food out of the fridge/deep freezer and heating it, or frying the chicken, or frying the surface of the potato’s casserole, or the fact that the sandwiches became cold and need reheating and the cheese needs to be melted.

If you do have these problems and want a smart solution, Yaoota has prepared for you this review on the Black & Decker Toaster Oven. Check out its pros and cons and feel free to order it online via Yaoota if you like the product.

Specifications:

Capacity 35 liters
Power 1500 watt
Functions Toast, bake and Broil

Pros:

  • Its capacity is great; it’s enough to accommodate a large Pyrex dish or tray.
  • It has three switches:
    – The first will set the temperature.
    – The second will fry or roast the food from above and beneath, grill chicken, or defrost frozen food.
    – The third switch will set the timer.
  • It is very practical in restaurants that offer meals and dishes.
  • There is a place to wind the wire in order not to bend it while not in use or when you come to move the device.
  • For those who are afraid of the idea of heating by radiation, this oven is completely safe; the heat from the thermostat is normal and is distributed based on what you want to do with the oven.

Cons:

  • It consumes a lot of electricity.
  • It heats up excessively; you may need to place a wooden shelf underneath, or any insulating material.
  • You need to be very careful not to burn the food inside, as one second could make a difference. The ideal duration for some foods is:
    – 3 minutes for sandwiches.
    – 5 minutes for pizza (for the mozzarella to melt).
    – 7-9 minutes for fudge cakes (or more if the cake is large).
  • The handle of the oven does not insulate heat; you need to wear gloves or use a towel when you come to open the oven door while in use.

After-sales Service:

It doesn’t have spare parts, maintenance or warranty, but it can be repaired just like regular ovens if anything is damaged. Generally, however, all the electric ovens have no maintenance. Even if the door is broken, there is no solution but to try and fix it yourself, although gluing it together has proven unsuccessful in many occasions.
