Oppo F1 Review

Design

  • It comes with a good manufacturing quality and a frame made of metal surrounded with a metallic frame and its edges are slightly curved and smooth.
  • You can easily use it with one hand.
  • Traces of fingerprints may appear on the screen, that’s why you need to clean the screen from time to time.
  • The phone doesn’t support backlight for navigation keys.
  • There is LED notification light at the top of the screen, but unfortunately it’s only one color.
  • Oppo F1 weighs 134 grams.

Sound

  • The sound quality is good and is high during phone calls.
  • Multimedia lovers: the loudspeakers are loud but not very loud and because the loudspeakers are placed at the back, this causes a decrease in the level of sound when put on a surface. So, it’s better to use earphones when listening to music or watching videos.

OPPO-F1-pros-and-cons

Screen

  • 5 inches HD screen of quality 1280 × 720 pixels and pixel density 294 ppi.
  • The screen is anti-scratch and protected with the Corning Gorilla Glass 4.
  • Oppo F1 screen is not FHD like many smartphones in the same price range, but it is proper; the colors look bright.
  • The pixels appear on the screen if you come very close to the screen; the black levels are good while watching videos.
  • You’ll need to increase the brightness level when using Oppo F1 under sunlight to get a clear display.
  • There may be no major complaint about the screen, but it didn’t come with anything exceptional either.

Performance

  • Qualcomm snapdragon 616, Octa-core processor; quad-core 1.7 GHz, quad-core 1.0 GHz and 3 GB RAM.
  • It runs with the operating system Android Lollipop 5.1.
  • Adreno 405 graphics card.
  • All these specifications of Oppo F1 are more than enough to guarantee that most of the tasks will run smoothly on the phone.
  • The phone doesn’t get hot when playing games, but you’ll notice some warmth in the phone’s body.
  • You’ll notice a slight slowing down when moving between applications, but that won’t affect the performance in a bad way.
  • 16 GB internal storage… The operating system takes up almost 5.59 GB which leaves only 10 GB for the user.
  • Fortunately, you can expand it by adding an external storage for up to 128 GB, but the slot of the external storage is the same slot for the secondary SIM so you’ll have to choose.

Cameras

OPPO-F1-Camera

Rear Camera

  • 13 MP, LED flash and f/2.2 aperture with auto-focus.
  • Face detection feature, HDR mode, panorama mode and many other modes that you can choose from the camera application.
  • It records videos of quality 1080p@30 fps.
  • The details of the picture are good and so are the colors; but with low or weak light, you’ll notice some noise.

Front-facing Camera

  • 8 MP, f/2.0 aperture and records videos of quality 1080p.
  • The front-facing camera of Oppo F1 is of a special feature which is the potential of transforming the whole screen to flash… It gives great selfies and clear colors.
  • The responsiveness of the front-facing camera to light is much better than the rear camera because of the aperture… Generally, companies care that the aperture of the rear camera is better than the front-facing camera, but here we find the exact opposite maybe because this phone is made to be a Selfie phone.

Battery

  • Non-removable 2500 mAh.
  • It doesn’t support fast charging.
  • The battery life of Oppo F1 lasts between 4 and 5 hours with 3G connection and it increases if you use Wi-Fi connection instead of 3G connection.
  • With average use, it will last longer and may last the whole day.
