Mechanism Of Action Of Ofloxacin-Prednisolone-Tetrahydrozoline Eye Drops

  • Ofloxacin-Prednisolone-Tetrahydrozoline Eye Drops contains three active ingredients: Ofloxacin which is a quinolone antibiotic, Prednisolone which is a corticosteroid with anti-inflammatory properties and Tetrahydrozoline which is a decongestant used to relieve redness in the eyes caused by minor eye irritations Ofloxacin/Prednisolone/Tetrahydrozoline
  • Eye Drops is used for corticosteroid responsive inflammatory conditions of the anterior segment (conjunctiva, cornea, eyelid) and posterior segment inflammation where bacterial infection or risk of bacterial infection exists.

Therapeutic Indications Of Loxtra 5Ml Drop

  • Ofloxacin-Prednisolone-Tetrahydrozoline Eye Drops is used for corticosteroid responsive inflammatory
  • conditions of the anterior segment (conjunctiva, cornea, eyelid) and posterior segment inflammation
  • where bacterial infection or risk of bacterial infection exists

Method Of Administration Of Loxtra 5Ml Drop

  • Always take this medicine exactly as your doctor or pharmacist has told you.
  • Check with your doctor or pharmacist if you are not sure.
  • The recommended dose 1 or 2 drops into the affected eye(s) every 2 to 4 hours for the first 2 days and then 4 times a day from then on. To be effective Ofloxacin must be taken regularly.
  • The length of treatment should not exceed ten days.
  • Doses may be changed in special conditions so always follow your doctor's or pharmacist's instructions.
  • If you take more than you should, talk to a doctor or go to the hospital straight away.
  • If you forget to take a dose, take it as soon as you remember it unless it is nearly time for your next dose.
  • Do not take a double dose (two doses at the same time) to make up for the forgotten dose.

  • swallowing, breathing or shortness of breath
  • Potentially life-threatening skin rashes (Stevens-Johnson syndrome, toxic epidermal necrolysis)
  • have been reported with the use of Ofloxacin, appearing initially as reddish target-like spots or
  • circular patches often with central blisters on the trunk.

Warnings & Special Precautions while Taking Loxtra 5Ml Drop

  • Tell your doctor about all of your health conditions, including, if you:
  • Are sensitive to other quinolone antibacterial agents. Long term use may result in a new
  • bacterial infection which does not respond to Ofloxacin.
  • Have a defect or ulceration of the surface of the eye.
  • Are diabetic
  • Have high blood pressure

Storage Conditions Of Loxtra 5Ml Drop

  • Keep the single-dose containers in their sachet to protect them from light. After first opening
  • the sachet, use the single-dose containers within 15 days.
  • After opening of the single-dose container: use immediately and throw away the single-dose
  • container after use.
  • Store below 25°c
  • Don’t refrigerate
  • Keep this medicine out of the sight and reach of children.
  • Store in the original package to protect from moisture.
  • Do not use this medicine after the expiry date which is stated on the box/blisters/label. The expiry date refers to the last day of the month.
