تحكى الكاتبه فى القصه الأولى ان البطل يصنع بالأقمشه القديمه عرائس ترقص وعند الفجر يصنع خيمه صخريه يختبئ بداخلها حتى مطلع النهار وذات ليله ظلت واحده من العرائس ترقص وتغنى حتى مطلع الفجرثم جلست معه وتحدثا معا حتى نسى ان يخرج وفى ليله رفضت العروسه الرقص وقالت انى متعبه وفى ليله لم يجد العروسه وظل يبحث عنها فى كل مكان ولم يجدها فبكى حتى فقد نظره من الحزن.
