Mechanism of action of Silymarin

• Silymarin has both hepatoprotective and regenerative actions.

• The mechanism of action is a reduction of the FR formed by toxins that damage the cell membranes (LPO) and competitive inhibition through hepatocyte external cell membrane modification.

Therapeutic Indications of Hepaform

• used as a natural treatment for things including cirrhosis, jaundice, hepatitis, and gallbladder disorders.

Method of Administration of Hepaform

• Adult dosage in terms of hepatoprotection is 420 mg/day of extract (standardized to 70-80% silymarin) three times a day for 6-8 weeks
• Doses may be changed in special conditions so always follow your doctor's or pharmacist's instructions.
• If you take more than you should, talk to a doctor or go to the hospital straight away.
• If you forget to take a dose, take it as soon as you remember it unless it is nearly time for your next dose.
• Do not take a double dose (two doses at the same time) to make up for the forgotten dose.

Undesirable Side Effects of Hepaform

• Although the following side effects are not common in everyone, some patients may complain from:

• Nausea, Diarrhea, Intestinal gas.

• Fullness or pain in the stomach.

• Loss of appetite.

• Rashes and itching.

• Do not use this medicine after the expiry date which is stated on the box/blisters/label.
