In this role-playing game set in 431BC, you can play either as Alexios or Kassandra as the protagonist. The game features a skill tree that is classified into three categories, namely, hunter, warrior, and assassin. Gameplay features from the previous installment named Origins also return, such as hitbox but with an upgrade that gives access to special abilities and skills during combat. Assassin's Creed Odyssey incorporates various role-playing elements like dialogue selection, which helps you in building relationships with non-playable characters. The notoriety system is updated, which unleashes mercenaries on the player if they commit crimes such as murder or theft in the presence of other characters. Also, the fan-favorite naval combat returns in this Assassin's Creed game, giving the command of Hellenistic-era warships to explore the Aegean Sea. Stepping aside from the main storyline , the player is given the option of following side quest or taking part in the Peloponnesian War through the war system.

Gripping Storyline

The player can take control of either Alexios or Kassandra, who are the descendants of Spartan king Leonidas I. During the main campaign, the player can fight for the Peloponnesian league or Delian league as a mercenary. Throughout the story, the player is tasked to restore their family after being left for dead by their father on the orders of the Spartan Oracle. As the player's journey progresses, he or she discovers that there is a secret cult spreading its reach across the Greek world for absolute power over the society by using ancient artifacts.

Thrilling Combat Scenarios

Assassin's Creed Odyssey for PS4 features the upgraded hitbox from Origins, in which you can use special skills such as the rain of arrows and power kick to finish off the enemy. You can take part in the Peloponnesian War as a mercenary. This new feature is called the War System, in which the player can face off against enemies in large-scale battles. As you complete each battle, the faction's influence over the region gets affected, making it easy or difficult to explore there. You can also take control of Hellenistic-era warships to explore the Aegean Sea and discover many secrets hidden underneath the body of water.

Interesting Role-playing Elements

At the beginning of the game, the player can choose to play as a male or female character. You can also customize their appearance and clothes that suit your style. This Assassin's Creed game for PS4 features dialogue choices for the players. Making the correct choice in a conversation with a non-playable character will increase your relationship status with them. The introduction of a skill tree enables the player to unlock new abilities that aid in both open combat and stealth. There are three classes defined in the skill tree, in which the hunter class benefits ranged attacks of bow and arrow, warrior class focuses on melee combat using swords and axes, and assassin's class shows upgrades for stealth challenges and silent takedowns.
