Start with great sound
Yamaha has been building musical instruments for more than
130 years, so we know what it takes to make a great sound. Our 20-series models
produce a classic recorder tone that's pure and in tune across the whole
instrument.
Music can be
fun! The translucent, candy-colored Yamaha rainbow recorders are Real
instruments, not toys. They are made from the same ABS resin materials as
regular Yamaha recorders, and offer the same superior tuning, the same
beautiful tone, and the same great durability. They play effortlessly with a
rich, full sound, and with their colorful look they make even routine practice
fun!
Yamaha's 20 and 30 Series recorders are designed to provide a
perfect start to anyone's musical education. They offer an ideal amount of air
resistance for easy control, and feature an accuracy of intonation you would
expect to find only one more expensive models. Though other maker's plastic
recorders may have a similar appearance, Yamaha ABS recorders are truly
superior instruments. Models are available with either 'German' or 'Baroque'
fingering systems. The 20 Series, easy to play throughout their ranges, are
primarily intended for beginners. 30 Series recorders, which feature an arched
wind-way for improved breath control and tonal expression, are for more
advanced players. Note: The G stamp on the packaging indicates German style
fingering (not the key).

Safety and Maintenance: They can also be washed with neutral detergent, and have the advantage
of relatively straightforward maintenance, although water droplets can clog the
wind way (airway) because these instruments do not absorb moisture.
If this occurs, lightly tap just above the window, and blow forcefully to force
out the droplets of water. If doing this during a performance, take care to
ensure the sound of blowing cannot be heard. It is possible to dislodge and
reduce moisture that has adhered to the inside of the instrument by sucking
just a little.
