Product Description:

• Aripiprazole is an antipsychotic agent. It is a tablet to treat psychosis and depression. This medicine is used only or in combination with other medicines to treat neurological conditions such as bipolar I disorder, major depressive disorder and schizophrenia. Aripiprazole is also used in children to treat irritability associated with autism and Tourette syndrome.

Dosage and method of use:

Recommended dose:

Schizophrenia:

• 10-15 mg/day orally initially
• May increase after 2 weeks, not to exceed 30 mg/day orally
• Patients not previously taken: 400 mg IM once per month initially
• Bipolar disorder:
• Monotherapy: 15 mg/day orally initially
• May be increased gradually, not to exceed 30 mg/day
• Supplement with lithium or valproate: 10-15 mg/day orally initially
• May be increased gradually, not to exceed 30 mg/day

Severe depressive disorder:

• 2: 5 mg/day orally initially
• Increase each week by 5 mg/day to a dose range of 2-15 mg/day

Indications:

Schizophrenia

• Treating Bipolar Illness (or Bipolar Disorder)
• Treating acute agitation symptoms associated with schizophrenia or bipolar disorder (or bipolar disorder)
• As an adjuvant therapy in the treatment of depression
• For the treatment of irritability associated with autism
