• Omnicef belongs to a group of developed antibacterial drugs that are similar to broad-spectrum penicillins, which have an effective effect in eliminating bacteria that cause diseases and infections. It works by inhibiting the growth of bacteria cells and killing them.

Dosage and method of use:

• The recommended dose for Omnicef is determined by weight, age and health status.
• The dose and duration of treatment determined by the attending physician must be adhered to.
• The usual dose: The drug is taken once or twice a day. The drug can be taken with or without food.
• For those with impaired renal function, reduce the dose.
• Dosage for adults: A dose of 300 mg is taken every 12 hours or a capsule at a rate of 600 mg once a day. The treatment continues for 5-19 days, according to the doctor’s instructions.
• Dosage for children from 6 months to 12 years of age: The dose is determined according to the child’s weight at a rate of 7 mg/kg every 12 hours, or a dose of 14 mg/kg once daily. The duration of treatment lasts from 5-10 days according to the health condition.
• Usually, the feeling of improvement begins after taking the drug for two days, but nevertheless, the duration of treatment determined by the doctor must be adhered to.
• It is recommended to drink enough water, equivalent to 8 glasses per day.
