About this product

  • Nepvolol is a beta-1-selective (cardiac-selective), adrenoceptor blocking agent, with little activity on beta-2 receptors, which are mainly found in bronchial muscles and blood vessels. Betaxolol reduces the heart's pumping force and less blood, and makes the heart beat slower and more regularly. It causes the blood vessels to relax and widen, and to lower blood pressure.

Dosage and method of use:

Adults:

Hypertension:

  • Initial dose 5 mg orally once daily.
  • Increase the dose by slowly increasing the dose every 2 weeks until you reach a dose of 40 mg.
  • Maximum dose 40 mg daily.
  • Increasing the dose quickly, i.e., with a period of less than two weeks does not give any better results.
  • The dose should be selected according to the patient's need and response.
  • Use: Treat high blood pressure alone or with the help of other high blood pressure medications.

Elderly:

Hypertension:

  • Initial dose 5 mg orally once daily.
  • Increase the dose by slowly increasing the dose every 2 weeks until you reach a dose of 40 mg.
  • Maximum dose 40 mg daily.
  • Congestive heart failure (infiltrative heart failure): in the elderly over 70 years.
  • Initial dose 1.25 mg orally once daily.
  • Increasing the dose is by increasing the dose by 2.5 mg every week: two weeks.
  • Maximum dose 10 mg per day.
  • Children (under 18 years of age): The safety and efficacy of this medicine have not yet been studied.

Dosage adjustment in renal disease:

  • When creatinine clearance rate is less than 30 mL per minute, the initial dose is 2.5 mg once daily and increases slowly as needed by the patient.

Dosage adjustment in hepatic disease:

  • In moderate cases, the starting dose is 2.5 mg once daily and increased slowly as needed.
  • In severe cases, medication is not recommended.
  • When stopping the use of the drug, it should be done gradually over a period of two weeks for fear of an increase in heart rate or the occurrence of violent angina pain.

  • Treating high blood pressure.
