About this product

Product Description:

Dapsone "diaminodiphenyl sulfone" is a competitive inhibitor of para-aminobenzoic acid and thus prevents bacteria from using it to synthesize folic acid. It has an inhibitory and anti-bacterial effect. Dapsone is a sulfone that continues to be of key importance in the treatment of leprosy. It is also used in the treatment of certain bullous dermatoses and skin diseases with neutrophilic infiltrates.
It may experience the release of chemical attractants from neutrophils and may act as an immunomodulator.
After absorption from the gastrointestinal tract, dapsone is widely distributed in body tissues and is no longer selectively retained in the skin, muscles, liver and kidneys, partially subjected to intercalation (the insertion of an acetyl molecule into the compound) or adherence to the liver and finally excreted in the urine as metabolites.
Tablets and gels should be stored in well-closed containers or protected from light.
