About this product

• Achtenon is a medicine containing piperidine that reduces the effects of certain naturally occurring chemicals in your body that may become unbalanced as a result of disease (such as Parkinson's disease), drug treatment, or other causes.

Dosage and method of use:

Adult dose:

• Parkinson's disease: 2 mg 3 to 4 times a day; The dose may be titrated to a maximum of 16 mg per 24 hours.
• Extrapyramidal reaction: 2 mg orally 1 to 3 times a day.

Elderly dose:

• The same dose as an adult, taking the necessary precautions.
• Warning: It is preferable that the dosage be determined by a specialist doctor or pharmacist.

Indications:

• Treatment of stiffness, tremors and convulsions.
• Poor muscle control for Parkinson's disease.
• It is also used to treat and prevent these same muscle conditions when they are caused by medications such as chlorpromazine (Thorazine), fluphenazine (Prolixin), perphenazine (Trilavon), and others.
