The science of “Usul al-Fiqh” is considered one of the most important legal sciences created by the Islamic mentality to serve the Islamic Sharia. It is the knowledge that gives its learner and adopts the curricula followed by the diligent imams in deriving their jurisprudence handed down through the generations. This knowledge was necessary for those who want to learn the jurisprudence of the predecessors and the rulings of Sharia regarding various events. Imam al-Shafi’i (150-204 AH) was the first to write an independent book on the science of “Usul al-Fiqh,” and he named his book as “The Message.” After al-Shafi’i, scholars continued to write books, both small and large, on the science of assets.
