Jumia's Description

10- Our Master Peter... A/ Muhammad Zakaria, a narration about the tomb of our Master Peter and people’s arguments for things that justify their failure. The events of the novel take place beginning in the year 1910. It begins by telling the story of Hanafi and Marwan, two partners who together discovered the tomb of our master Peter. At first they thought it was a Pharaonic tomb, but later they noticed that the tomb contained Qur’anic verses, Coptic drawings, and an ancient Pharaonic language, and the tomb was covered with a green cloth. Green, exactly like the cloth that Muslims use to cover the graves of righteous saints.Later, the novel discusses different tales and stories of people throughout the ages, but the only thing that unites all the heroes of the novel and their stories is the main idea of the novel.Idea: The main idea of the novel can be summed up in two words: Human beings will live forever searching for solutions outside themselves, they will use anything as an excuse, they will pin their mistakes on others, and they will divide into various groups, each group believing in strange beliefs instead of searching within themselves for salvation. For example, in the novel, the writer mentioned that the weak used to go to the grave of our Master Peter in order to beg for mercy and to be saved from Ahmed Hanafi’s bad treatment of them, while Ibn Marwan viewed everyone as cowards who chose the easiest paths instead of standing against injustice, and this is the whole point of the novel. Humans will search for the easiest ways to solve their problems, and their minds will always be absent. They will believe in strange things and convince themselves that they will save them from misfortune.
