In his new novel, "Peace be upon Ibrahim," Muhammad Afifi takes us to the years after World War II in Egypt, the years whose events paved the way for the profound changes that determined the fate of Egypt for the following decades.The novel takes place in the three years that followed the end of the war, beginning at the beginning of 1946 and ending with the bloody conclusion of 1948. Through what is going on between its characters and most of them are historical figures, we discover some of what was going on behind the scenes of the royal palace at the time.  The events take place in the atmosphere of celebrating the first centenary of the departure of Ibrahim Pasha and attempts to exploit it in uploading the image of Farouk and the image of the declining monarchy popularly. It is based on real facts, but Muhammad Afifi did not deal with it with the vision of the historian who documents a historical event.
