إن القمر يجري، أو تجري تحته السحب، لكنه لا يفارق النافذة أبدًا، وبدأت الأمطار تهبط ببطء، خفيفة بالغة الخفة، صوت النهجان يتصاعد، غريبة، هل هذا الصوت يأتي من القمر، أم ماذا بالضبط؟ فُتحت النافذة من تلقاء نفسها فجأة، فتدفق الهواء البارد بقوة، طيَّر شعرها الطويل المحلول، وجعل الروب الخفيف جناحين يخفقان خلفها، وغمرها ضوء القمر، كأنه يعانقها مع الريح الباردة، فبدت طائرًا يهم بالرحيل، وسطع عليها بشدة القمر الذي أزاح السحب واقترب قرصه العظيم بسرعة، والنهجان يزداد، أحست أنه خفقان، أو تكات.. تك تك تك، ودقات قلب، قلب ينهج، وصاحبه يجري، والقمر يقترب، يكاد يحرقها بنوره، وصوت بعيد ينادي باكيًا: «إيزيييييييس! أمي أختي زوجتي لا تتركيني ممزقًا، أقيميني من العدم، أنقذي خلودي!».
