In many ways‎,‎ if you look at it from afar‎,‎ it resembles an iPhone/iPod that has been laid on its side‎.‎ It‎'‎s rectangular in shape and shares similar rounded corners‎.‎ It has a glossy black finish on the front and white on the back ‎(‎iPhone‎?‎‎)‎‎.‎ The similarities end with the silver metal speaker grille and a row of buttons that adorn the top edge of the dock for controlling the volume‎,‎ menu navigation as well as the audio source selection‎.‎ On the bottom we find rubber strips to stop the iF350 from sliding around‎.‎

This dock relies on a flip‎-down rear leg to keep it in an upright position‎,‎ which is released by pressing on the catch release area on the back‎.‎ The legs fold down smoothly with a friction gear preventing it from springing abruptly into its down position‎.‎ Folding down the rear leg also folds down the Apple universal dock in the front at the same time‎,‎ as they‎'‎re mechanically linked‎.‎The dock measures 28 x 15 x 11.5cm‎.‎ With the legs folded up‎,‎ it‎'‎s about 4.5cm thick‎,‎ which makes it more portable‎,‎ and tipping the scales at 1.5kg‎.‎ Edifier includes a handy carrying pouch‎,‎ which doesn‎'‎t fully enclose the speakers‎.‎ As a result‎,‎ after months of outdoor use‎,‎ we noticed dents and scratches appearing on the areas not covered by the case‎.‎At the back of the iF350 is a 3.5mm line‎-in jack and slot‎-in cradle for the credit card‎-sized remote control‎.‎ Like the remote on the Pioneer XA‎-NAS5‎,‎ it‎'‎s thin‎,‎ but plastered with buttons for the playback‎,‎ radio presets and alarm clock controls‎.‎ The FM antenna is hidden within the body of the dock and is easily extendible if needed‎.‎ Also included are 12 different iPod dock adapters‎.‎
