Mechanism Of Action Of Dexamethasone-Neomycin Ear/Eye Drops

• Dexamethasone-Neomycin Ear/Eye Drops belongs to a group of medicines called topical corticosteroids.
• Dexamethasone-Neomycin Ear/Eye Drops work by reducing inflammation (redness, itching and soreness).
• Topical means that they are used on the outside of the body and not taken by mouth or injection. this Drops also contain neomycin sulphate, an aminoglycoside antibiotic, which prevents bacterial infection developing.
• Dexamethasone-Neomycin Drops is used to treat inflammation of the eye and ear when there may also be a risk of bacterial infection.

Therapeutic Indications Of Neodex Eye/Ear Drops 5 Ml

• It is used to treat the inflammation associated with bacterial infections of the eye.

Method Of Administration Of Neodex Eye/Ear Drops 5 Ml

• Always take this medicine exactly as your doctor or pharmacist has told you.
• Check with your doctor or pharmacist if you are not sure.
• For proper use:
• Position the dropper above your eye.
• Look up and away from the dropper. Squeeze out a drop and close your eye.
• Apply gentle pressure to the inside corner of your eye (near your nose) for about 1 minute to prevent the liquid from draining down your tear duct.
• Repeat the process in the other eye if your doctor has prescribed drops in both eyes.
• If you are using more than one drop in the same eye, repeat the process with about 5 minutes
• between drops.
• Doses may be changed in special conditions so always follow your doctor's or pharmacist's instructions.
• If you take more than you should, talk to a doctor or go to the hospital straight away.
• If you forget to take a dose, take it as soon as you remember it unless it is nearly time for your next dose.
• Do not take a double dose (two doses at the same time) to make up for the forgotten dose.

• Serious side effects are not expected with this medication.
• Although the following side effects are not common in everyone, some patients may complain from:
• Some burning
• Stinging
• Irritation
• Itching & redness
• Blurred vision & eyelid itching, eyelid swelling.
• Sensitivity to light may occur.

• If you are pregnant or breastfeeding, think you may be pregnant or are planning to have a baby, ask your doctor or pharmacist for advice before taking this medicine.
• Your doctor will discuss the possible risks and benefits of using this medicine during pregnancy and breast-feeding

Warnings & Special Precautions while Taking Neodex Eye/Ear Drops 5 Ml

• Do not take this medicine without consulting your physician:
• If you are pregnant or during breastfeeding
• If you are suffering or have suffered in the past from asthma, from impaired function of the eyes (glaucoma, optic nerve damage, cataract or any kind of the eye infection), from diabetes or from impaired hearing function, and viral infection.
• If you have known sensitivity to any type of food or medicine

Storage Conditions Of Neodex Eye/Ear Drops 5 Ml

• After opening the drops are safe for the eye for a period of 28 days. After this, using the drops can cause serious damage to the eye as bacteria may have been introduced.
• Store below 25°c
• Don’t refrigerate
• Keep this medicine out of the sight and reach of children.
• Store in the original package to protect from moisture.
• Do not use this medicine after the expiry date which is stated on the box/blisters/label. The expiry date refers to the last day of the month.
