FiiO introduces a new model of X7 DAP. It has a new design borrowed from the design elements of the X5 3rd gen. like the side mounted volume wheel and more. Its weight and dimensions are also reduced. The new X7 Mark II supports 2GB RAM to allow serious multi-tasking and to provide a more fluid experience. The player now also provides 64GB of internal storage and 2 micro-SD card slots, each supporting up to 256 GB expansion cards. In the heart of the player is the 8-channel ESS ES9028PRO DAC that has exceptional signal-to-noise ratio and remarkable total harmonic distortion plus noise. Because of this, the new X7 is able to provide more power, better dynamics and better soundstage over its predecessor. The X7 Mark II also has three separate crystal oscillators that runs at a faster rate compared to the original X7 resulting in a reduced jitter, increased clock precision and stability.

Bundled with the X7 Mark II is the AM3A amplifier module that has both single-ended and balanced headphone outputs. Also, the Amp modules of the original X7 is still compatible with the X7 Mark II. The player now supports both 2.4 and 5GHz WiFi bands and has improved internal design to eliminate electromagnetic interference.
