The Samsung HT-E6730W home theater system that is illustrated in the following photo profile, after a successful production and sales run in 2012/2013 has been discontinued and is no longer available for purchase, except as used product via the secondary market.

However, my review and supplementary photo gallery are still maintained on this site for historical reference for those they may own the system, or are considering buying a used unit.

For more current alternatives, refer to our periodically updated list of .

As a , the following is a close-up photo gallery that provides more details on the features and operation of the system.

As discussed in my review, the Samsung HT-E6730W is home theater system that incorporates  and  and  into one central unit, complemented by a 7.1 channel speaker system (four channels are incorporated into the two front speaker cabinets) that features wireless surround speakers.

Starting off this look at the Samsung HT-E6730W, is a photo of the everything you get in the HT-E6730W package. Starting in the center of the photo is the Blu-ray/Receiver combo, accessories, center channel speaker, remote control, and iPod/iPhone dock. Just to the left of the Blu-ray/Receiver combo is the wireless receiver for the surround speakers.

Also shown on the left and right side of the top portion of the photo are the surround speakers, along with the top portion of the "tall boy" main speakers.

Moving down to the bottom portion of the photo are the bottom portions of the "tall boy" speakers and stands, as well as the provided subwoofer.

Here is a "dual" view of the main unit of the Samsung HT-E6730W system that houses the Blu-ray Disc player and home theater receiver section.

The Front Panel

The Blu-ray/DVD/CD disc tray is located on the left side of the front panel. The front panel controls are located in the center of the unit (below the Blu-ray 3D logo). All the of front panel controls a the touch sensitive type, so there are no actual buttons to push.

Moving to the left of the front of the unit are the two vacuum tube housing, as well as flip-out plastic cover on the bottom right of the front of the unit that hides the ASC (Auto-Sound Calibration) microphone input and front panel USB port.

Finally on the bottom photo is a look at the entire rear panel of the HT-E6730W main unit, featuring all the networking, audio, video, and speaker connections, which are located on the left and center of the rear panel, as well as a cooling fan and power cord located on the right side.

The Rear Panel

Starting on the left side of the rear panel are the speaker connections. As you can see there are connections for the center, front L/R main, Front L/R top, and subwoofer speakers. The surround speakers connect to the additional wireless receiver/amplifier module.

It is also important to note that the speaker connections are not traditional and the that the speaker impedance rating is 3 ohms. Do not connect the speakers to a different home theater receiver or amplifier other than the HT-E6730W or home theater-in-a-box system that uses the same type of speaker connections and ohm rating. This also applies to the subwoofer.

Moving right is is the iPod docking port connection. An iPod dock is provided with the HT-E6730W. However, it is also important to note that you can also connect an iPod or iPhone to the HT-E6730W via the front mounted USB port, but that will only get you access to audio-only files. If you want to access video or still image files from your iPod or iPhone, you need to use the provided docking station.

Next is the . This connection can be used to physically connect the Samsung HT-E6730W to an internet router for accessing stored media on your home network or streaming movies and music from the internet. However, the Samsung HT-E6730W is also equipped with built-in WiFi, so either connection can be used to accomplish this task. The Ethernet connection option is often the most reliable for streaming.

Moving the right of the LAN connection, is a TX card slot. The TX card that is provided enables the HT-E6730W main unit to transmit audio signals to the wireless receiver/amplifier used to power the surround speakers.

output. This is how you connect the Samsung HT-E6730W to a TV or video projector. The HDMI output is also .

HDMI is the preferred connection if your TV or video projector has an HDMI or DVI input (in which case you can use an optional HDMI-to-DVI connection adapter if needed).

Immediately to the right of the HDMI output are two HDMI inputs. These inputs can be used to connect any source device (such as an additional dvd or blu-ray player, satellite box, dvr, etc...) to the HT-E6730W.

Continuing to move right are a set of  and . Only use the composite video output if your TV or video projector does not have HDMI or component video inputs. It is important note that full 1080p HD and 3D can only be accessed when using the HDMI connections. However, you must also have a TV or video projector that is 3D compatible.

Just below the composite video output is a  input connection. This can be used to access audio from a CD player, DVD player, or other source that has a digital optical output connection.

Finally, on the far right of the rear panel, is an FM Antenna connection.

It is important to note that the HT-E6730W does not provide either  or composite video inputs. This means that you cannot connect analog video sources, such as a VCR or an older non-HDMI equipped DVD player to this system.

Here is close-up view of the remote control provided with the Samsung HT-E6730W system.

Starting on the top of the remote are the power and TV source buttons, followed by the BD, TV, Eject, and Sleep Time buttons.

Moving down is the numeric keypad that can be used to access chapters directly, as well as other designated options.

Below the direct access buttons are the Blu-ray disc player transport buttons, followed by the Volume, Mute, Subwoofer level, and FM or TV tuning buttons. Just below those buttons are the home screen, Netflix, and repeat buttons.

Moving towards the bottom of the remote are the system and disc menu access and navigation buttons.

At the very bottom of the remote are a series of multi-colored special function buttons and other multi-function buttons for access features on specific Blu-ray discs, 3D sound effect setting, stereo/mono FM access, 2D/3D conversion, direct  access, and subtitle language access.
