Tecno Camon 15
On February 21, 2020 Tecno Camon 15 was announced as the successor of Camon 12. The price of Tecno Camon 15 in Kenya is around 17,500 Kenya shillings. Some of its features include a 48 MP Quad Camera, a 16 MP selfie camera, a 5000 mAh battery and Android 10.0. This year Camon series will have only two options as compared to three in 2019. Here is our review.
48 MP Quad Camera
A 48 MP Quad camera is on the back panel of Tecno Camon 15. Such a camera setup we have seen even on cheaper smartphones that we concede. But let it not skip anyone’s mind that for just 14,500/= the resolution here is a whopping 48MP. The other three lenses consist of an Ultra Night Mode lens for low light and night shots, a wide angle and macro lens. Whereas photography seems a high flier with this phone, we observe that it may have been so at the cost of video recording which is [email protected] max. Howbeit, photography is excellent.
Design and Display
Did you ever see Tecno Camon 12 Air with its punch-hole for the 16MP selfie camera in the upper left corner? That is the case with Tecno Camon 15. Even its selfie camera is 16MP. I think the hole punch is a cool thing as compared to notches and pop ups. Then the front display is made of glass front while the back and frame are of a plastic build. A textured pattern you will find on the back panel and it sort of improves the grip while holding this phone in hand. So much going on on that back panel because the finger print scanner is also rear mounted.
Performance
Really, no one should mind about HIOS 6.0. Rather the question which needs must be answered when it comes to platform is, what Android version does Tecno Camon 15 run? Android 10.0 is the response. On board is also 64GB of internal storage with a generous 4GB of RAM. This memory interface is eMMC 5.1 and using a microSD the internal storage can be expanded. We think Tecno made some wise decision with storage, memory and platform this time. Keep it up.
Battery
What is sealed within Tecno Camon 15 is a non-removable Li-Po 5000 mAh battery. And I think we all know what lengths of hours a 5000 mAh battery can go yes? For this reason I will rest my comments at that. Expect whole day(s) of battery life with this beefy capacity. More news on this phone here.
