HTC one x10

So lately there has been an out-cry of smartphones’ poor batteries and inability to last more than a full day on charge. Well, time to wipe your tears because HTC, with the HTC one X10 has heard this cry. Yes, the HTC one x10’s main selling point is its battery. But sincerely I wouldn’t just buy a smartphone because of its battery, there are other factor to consider. This is the reason for this review, to see what else, besides good battery the one x10 has to offer. This is an overview of the HTC one x10.

Design and Build

At 175 grams, the HTC one x10 stands at 152.9 x 75.6 x 8.2 mm. it has an all metal build. On its back is a camera with a dual LED flash beside it, a fingerprint scanner below the camera and with HTC’s branding in the middle back of the phone. Its right hand side has the volume rocker and the power button. At 8.2mm thickness it doesn’t feel so big in the hand, the thickness mainly is to pack its battery. It has a compact feel in the hand although it seems a big phone, on paper.

Display

The one x10 has a 5.5 inch Super LCD capacitive touchscreen with a 1080 x 1920 pixels (401 ppi pixel density) resolution. It has support for multi touch and has Corning Gorilla Glass protection. Generally, HTC screen are nice looking with soft colors that aren’t so aggressive with eyesight. The same is the case here with the one X10. Colors are well produces and visible and the screen can be easily seen even in bright sunlight. I also love HTC’s skin on the HTC one x10.

Camera

The one x10 comes with two cameras. The primary one is a 16MP shooter with aperture f/2.2. It has auto focus and comes with a dual LED flashlight 16MP isn’t just paper specs, it really does delivers 16MP quality photos. Video with the primary camera stands at 1080p@30fps.

The secondary one is 8MP and selfies look just fine with the one x10. I love how natural and focused images shot with the secondary camera come out.

It is a phone that persons who love taking photos will fall in love with.

Performance and Memory

The HTC one x9 is powered by a Mediatek MT6755 Helio P10 chipset, an Octa-core (4×1.8 GHz Cortex-A53 & 4×1.0 GHz Cortex-A53) CPU and Mali-T860MP2 GPU. It runs on Android 6.0.1 with HTC’s skin called sense themes the device.

The one x10 comes with 32GB on board memory and runs on 3GB of RAM. The memory can however be expanded to 256GB using an SD card.

Battery

Here is the selling point of this phone. A 5.5 inch screen that comes with 4,000mAH battery. Crazy! Ask around, a smartphone that packs this capacity of battery is hard to come about. So the phone was made a thicker to accommodate the big battery. Phone standby on 3G network with the one x10 is up to 744 hours. The one x10 can go up to 2 days after full charge with moderate usage. Connectivity and Network

One x10 supports Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n, Wi-Fi Direct, DLNA, hotspot, Bluetooth 4.2, GPS with A-GPS, GLONASS and comes with a microUSB 2.0.

It also does support GSM 2G, HSPA 3G and LTE 4G networks and you can get either the Single SIM (Nano-SIM) or Dual SIM (Nano-SIM, dual stand-by) version.

Sound

The one x10 has support for Vibration; MP3, WAV ringtones alert types, loudspeaker and has the good 3.5mm jack. I always refer to it as good since soon phones will not be including the jack.

It has a bottom speaker on its bottom right that does give some good sound quality. And with the good battery life of the one x10 be sure to play your music for hours more than you will get on any other smartphone.

The HTC one x10 is an impressive phone. I love how besides its long battery life, it also packs the other goodies one would expect to get from a decent smartphone like a good camera and good build quality. It is a phone I would recommend without any hesitation,
