Where will this cable converter work?

This HDMI to VGA is for you if you have a gadget, such as Laptop/ Desktop / Projector with a HDMI port. However your screen or Monitor , only has a VGA port.So you will plug in the HDMI Male into your Gadget, let's call it, Computer from now on.  Once you plug in the HDMI part of the converter into your computer, you will plugin, your VGA cable into the VGA part of the converter. Does it have sound too ?

From the product images you will see that there is a 3.5mm audio jack. You can plug in your earphones/headphones/ speakers in that port. Once you plug in your headphones, ensure you change your default audio playback settings on your computer. If you are on windows here is how to change your default audio Playback device:

1. Go to Control Panel
2. Then click Hardware and Sounds
3. Then under Sound click on Manage Audio Devices
4. Finally, depending on the Audio devices you have connected on your Computer, Right Click and then Set your desired Device as The default device. (Right click > Set As Default Device )

If you are looking for a VGA to HDMI converter, this will not work for you.
