The instrument features 523 voices arranged into sections such as Piano, Organ, Guitar, Strings, Drum Kits and Sound Effects, including 41 Arabic & Oriental voices. The PSR-A300 also features 135 accompaniments which create a "backing band" based on musical styles including 83 Arabic & Oriental styles. There are 35 built-in songs which together with the Yamaha Education System enable the complete beginner to start playing straight away.Voices, styles and songs can be easily selected using the numeric keypad and the LCD shows the instrument's settings and also features a keyboard and music notation guide.PSR-A300 has MIDI IN/OUT ports to enable connection to suitably-equipped computers and other musical instruments.
