A little about the origin: Feta is the most famous cheese in Greece and, since 2001 when it obtained the status of Protected Designation of Origin , it has to be made out of sheep and goat milk only. It is crumbly yet moist as it is kept in brine. In The Kitchen: Feta is wonderful served in a Greek salad, which contrary to popular belief, is made up of only tomatoes, olives, red onion, cucumber and green bell peppers.
