About this product

• Megamox is an antibiotic and works by killing the bacteria that cause infections. It contains two different types of medicines called amoxicillin and clavulanic acid.

Dosage and method of use:

• It is preferable to take Megamox with food to avoid any side effects in the stomach.
• Swallow the tablets whole with a glass of water.
•  Space the doses evenly throughout the day, at least 4 hours apart. Do not take two doses in one hour.
• Do not take Megamox for more than two weeks. If you still feel unwell, you should go back to see a doctor.

Adult dose:

• Chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, acute exacerbation.
• 1 gm tablet every 12 hours.
• Intra-abdominal infection.
• 2 g every 12 hours.
• Neutropenia, low-risk cancer patients.
• 1 g every 12 hours.

Dental infection:

• 1g twice daily for 7 to 14 days of treatment.

Acute otitis media:

• 1 or 2 g twice daily Duration: 5 to 7 days for mild to moderate infection and 10 days for severe infection.

Peri tonsil cellulitis or abscess:

• 1g every 12 hours to complete 14 days of treatment.

Pneumonia:

Aspiration pneumonia (community-acquired [mild]): Oral:

• 2 g twice daily.
• Duration of treatment: generally 7 days.

Acute bacterial sinusitis:

• 625 mg every 8 hours or 1 g every 12 hours for 5 to 7 days.
• High dose: 2g every 12 hours.

Children's dose:

• Children's doses are always calculated according to weight and disease condition, so the doctor recommended dose must be adhered to:
• Children weighing 40 kg or more.

The usual dose is:

• One tablet three times a day.
• Children weighing less than 40 kg.
• Children 6 years of age or younger should preferably be treated with Megamox Oral Suspension as prescribed by a physician.

Elderly dose:

• Same dose for adults.
• Warning: It is preferable that the dosage be determined by a specialist doctor or pharmacist.
• Kidney and liver patients.
• If you suffer from kidney problems, the dose may be changed. Your doctor may choose a different concentration.
• If you have liver problems, you may have more blood tests to check how well your liver is working.

Indications:

• Middle ear and sinus infections.
•  Respiratory infections.
•  Urinary tract infections.
•  Skin and soft tissue infections, including dental infections.
•  Bone and joint infections.
