About this product

A combination medicine containing:

• Amlodipine: A calcium channel blocker, dihydropyridine, prevents calcium ion from entering smooth muscle cells and heart muscle during depolarization, which leads to relaxation of smooth muscle within the coronary vessels, and as a result of this relaxation the coronary vessels dilate and thus increase the flow of oxygen In the myocardium, amlodipine also acts directly on peripheral vascular smooth muscle to produce peripheral arterial dilation, thereby reducing peripheral vascular resistance and blood pressure.
• Olmesartan: An angiotensin II receptor antagonist, prevents vasoconstriction and aldosterone secretion caused by binding of angiotensin II receptors, thus reducing peripheral vascular resistance, blood pressure and diuresis.

Dosage and method of use:

• Initially, 5/20 mg amlodipine/olmesartan is given once daily, the dose may be increased after 1-2 weeks if a response is obtained but not to the required extent.
• Maximum daily dose: 10/40 mg amlodipine/olmesartan.

Indications:

• It is used to treat high blood pressure.
• Reduce the risk of angina or stroke.
