About the Author:James Joyce was born on February 2, 1882 in Dublin, where he grew up in difficult and poor family circumstances. Joyce studied modern languages ​​at University College Dublin, including English, French and Italian. In 1902 he went to Paris to begin medical studies. However, he turned to writing there and led a dissolute lifestyle. In 1903 he returned to Dublin, but could not gain a foothold there. With his lover and future wife Nora Barnacle he moved in 1904 to the continent and lived mainly in Trieste. In 1914, Joyce's first short story collection appeared. After the outbreak of the First World War, he moved with his family to Zurich. In 1920 Joyce moved to Paris at the invitation of his friend Ezra Pound. where he lived until France's occupation in World War II. James Joyce died on January 13, 1941 in Zurich.
