Sami was born in Cairo, Egypt to a musical family, he was 12 years old when started composing his first musical phrases using Piano and decided to play violin. He joined the High Institute of Arabic Music in 1994 and he had BA from it, 1994-2002 He Studied Classical Music, during this time Sami decided to explore many music fields to enrich his capabilities as a composer and a violinist.Sami pursued his passion for music by playing with different bands in Egypt and abroad. He played classical/Arabic and fusion.In 1997 Sami studied with the Maestro Abdo Dagher, He learned Oriental Egyptian Music for 2 years.Sami played violin along with traditional ensembles at Cairo Opera House. Along with some colleagues, Sami helped creating his first Jazz band in Egypt called EL GOURIYA. He met with Fathi Salama “well known Jazz musician and an expert in world music” who invited him to play violin in his band SHARKIYAT. Sami along with his friend Ahmed Omar (bass player) established their band EL DOR EL AWAL which still performs successfully. He Participated in many workshops along with other Egyptian artists and with the world renowned musician Bjorn Meyer, Singer and harp player Asita Hamidi (Switzerland) and Maurizio Lazzaro (Italy). And last year he worked with the English director Tim Supple in: 1001Nights, as a composer and playing life during the performance which took place at Luminato Festival 2011 in Toronto, and in Edinburgh International Festival 2011- at Lycium Theatre. (In 2012 He is touring with Egyptian guitar player Ali Khattab with his project in Madrid in caffe central, Montpelier, Avignon, Cairo.
