Cairo Steps
In 2002, “Cairo Steps band” was born through the
collaboration of two highly talented and esteemed musicians.
Coming from very different two parts of the world, and different music styles.
Basem Darwisch from Egypt, and Matthias Frey from Germany.
They both wanted to introduce a new and unique music production to the younger
generations of the Middle East.
The collaboration between the two musicians resulted in collaboration between
their music styles also, and the result was a combination between the Egyptian
spiritual ethnic music and Jazz music.
The band toured in Egypt and Europe in many different events, inviting
musicians and artists from around the world to join them their performances and
tours.
During this time, the band was invited to represent Germany in the cultural
Institute festivals around Europe and the Middle East.
At the end of 2013, a new member joined the team Ralph Valenteano to
collaborate producing the new Album Arabiskan release date January 2015 .
Ralph's expertise as a well-known Producer & Composer with modern spiritual
music added a modern element, to the rich culture of the Oriental music and the
depth of Jazz music.
With the high technical innovations and elements, the team was producing modern
sounds to feature the original Oriental and Jazz spirit.
The historical events of the revolution in Egypt added another edge to the
production of the band as they are now inspired to use their music to express
the changes and hope for a better future for Egypt and the Arabic world ,
through the combination of the music and light picture shows.
