Casio CTK-2200 Digital Keyboard

The CTK-2200 is a great first keyboard that has everything you need to start making music. It has 61 full-size keys and a wide variety of sounds and accompaniment styles to enjoy. The built-in lessons will teach any beginning keyboard player new songs and introduce them to music in a fun and interactive way.

The keyboard has its own stereo speaker system and can also be played using headphones. A USB socket is included for connection to a computer or compatible tablet and you can also use a foot switch to produce piano sustain effects. A power adapter is included and the keyboard will also run on 6 AA batteries. Weighing just 3kg, the CTK-2200 is an ideal instrument for making music on the move.

Built-In Lessons and Games

The CTK-2200 includes Casio's Step Up Lesson function. This is an easy to use music teaching system that shows you how to play any of the 110 built-in songs. You don't need any prior musical knowledge to start: just follow the guides on the LCD screen and listen to the spoken instructions to find the right keys. Each song is taught in small sections, gradually building up to a complete performance.

In addition to the built-in lessons, the Music Challenge game helps you improve your note finding skills on the keyboard.

Main Features

61 full-size keys - The keys on the CTK-2200 are the same size and shape as those on a traditional piano. This is important for learning and encourages the correct hand shape and finger positions.

There are 400 sounds to choose from when playing a melody. Some sounds are split voices, meaning that the lower half of the keyboard has a different sound to the upper half. There are also layered sounds: selecting these makes the keyboard play two different sounds at once. The keyboard also has percussion sounds and sound effects that can be played using the keys.

The 150 Automatic Accompaniments can be used to provide a backing band; adding drums, bass and other instruments to your performance.

One Touch Presets make setting up easy. Simply select the style of accompaniment you wish to use, such as Pop, Hip Hop or Dance and the One Touch Preset will select a suitable melody sound for you.

An LCD Display shows all the essential information you need, such as which sound and accompaniment style is selected. All these settings can be changed at the press of a button. The display also shows the notes you play as musical notation or chord symbols.

Connect your favourite audio device to the Audio Input socket and hear the sound through the CTK-2200's stereo speakers. The keyboard's built-in sounds can be heard at the same time, allowing you to play along with the music.

Audio Sampling - Connect a microphone or any music player to the audio input and you can record your voice or a favourite song clip into the keyboard. You can then use this recording as an extra sound or even make it into part of a drum beat.

Digital Reverbmakes your music sound as if it is being played in a concert hall.

The Transpose feature makes it possible to play a song in any key, which is perfect for accompanying singers or other instruments.

Voice Pads - Need some backing singers? 5 dedicated buttons enable you to add extra vocal sounds to your music. You can use the built-in vocal phrases or even record your own.

The CTK-2200 includes different Chord Modes. Complete beginners will enjoy being able to play chords with just one finger. Experienced players can switch to full chord mode for more advanced harmonies, including variable bass notes.

The built-in Metronome can be used to help you play in time with the beat.

A USB socket lets you connect the keyboard to a compatible computer or tablet. With additional software it is possible to compose, print and record your own music using the CTK-2200.
