This Tapas Cheese Fondue in black has a ceramic fondue pot, solid mahogany wood board, 4 forks and 1 tea light to keep the cheese perfectly warm for as long as you need. Keeping the cheese at just the right temperature is critical to making excellent fondue. This pot (400gr.) is ideal for 4 people and microwave safe for convenience and quick warming of the cheese, leaving more time to spend with friends! Cleaning tips If the pot is metal and can be put on the stove, put water in it up to the level of the cheese residue. If you have cheese to the top of the pot, only fill to within about an inch of the top. Cover the pot with a lid. If the pot is non-stovetop safe, place another pot or tea kettle with water in it on the burner. You will need to be able to pour hot water from this container safely, so don’t use something too big. Heat the water until it is near, but not boiling. About 180 ºF to 190 ºF (80 ºC – 90 ºC) seems to work. Add about a teaspoon of dish washer detergent (not dish soap) to the water, and give it a stir. Remove from the heat (or turn the stove off). If you used a separate container, carefully pour the hot, soapy water into the fondue pot, and stir it once or twice to coat the walls. Replace the lid on the pot with the detergent/water mixture, and let it sit for about 10 minutes. Empty most of the pot and inspect it to see if the cheese is all gone. Most of the cheese should have been “dissolved” into the water with the detergent. If there are some stuck bits, a very light scrub with a dish brush and a splash with the remaining detergent water should very easily remove the last bits. Rinse the pot well – the detergent tends to leave a soapy film.
