Sony has improved their very popular headphones, the MDR-1000X with the new WH-1000XM2. The sound signature of the MDR-1000X that most people come to love, has been brought to the WH-1000XM2 with all the features of the old headphones and more. The new WH-1000XM2 now has smarter noise canceling that detects wether the user is walking, traveling or just simply listening and automatically adjust the noise canceling mode according to the activity. In traveling mode, the headphones cancels all background noise, walking allows the background noise to be heard for safety purposes and waiting mode cancels all background noise except voice to let users hear important announcement.

The top-notch noise canceling of the old MDR-1000X has now been improved to the new headphones by adding Atmospheric Pressure Optimizing that delivers optimal sound at high altitude. The WH-1000XM2 also includes virtual surround sound, equalizer and sound position control to choose the direction the user wants the sound to come from. Another improvement made compared to the old model is its battery life. The WH-1000XM2 now has 30 hrs of continuous playback with noise canceling and is capable of fast charge that gives the headphones 70 minutes of play after just 10 minutes of charge. All in all the WH-1000XM2 is a welcome improvement to wireless noise canceling headphones enthusiast.
