In free movement sections, you can buy new collectibles and battle items, take on a task, or talk to characters to advance the story. At certain points in the gameplay, you will face an Ultimate Decision moment. Take either the Hero or Legend path; the choice is yours. The Hero path is easier but grants fewer rewards while the Legend path is tough but lets you use powerful items. Each of these paths has its own Ninja Tools Pallet too with which you can upgrade and equip exclusive items.

Online Battle is the place in NS Ultimate Ninja Storm 3 PS 3 that sorts the amateurs from the elite fighters. With a Battle Record screen that announces all your wins, disconnect rate, and losses, there’s nowhere to hide and no room for cheating. MP is divided into ranked and player matches. Player matches are a good way to hone your skills in mano e mano matches or against a series of opponents. Ranked matches leave less room for error and allow you to rise to the top of the leaderboard. Plus, NS UNS 3 PS 3 lets you participate in a four-player or eight-player tournament.
