The CB-501’s are about as pure a forged club as you are going to find in golf. They unique two-piece forging process provides a feeling unlike any other. There is a small margin for error while hitting these irons in order to get the top-end feel. The best way to explain this is through percentages. If you were to strike the ball with 75% accuracy or less, you will get a decent feeling through the massive amount of feedback given. This is never a bad thing if you are looking for immediate response in order to adjust from a possible swing malfunction.
Let’s talk about the top 25%. At 76% accuracy on the club-face you are going to start entering a realm of greatness. Shots will feel as if the irons are an extension of your own extremities. At 85-90% you are going to start to giggle. At 95-100% you will feel something that can purely be described as euphoric. Uncontrollable grins, shaking of the head in disbelief, and severe neck pain from turning to see if anyone else witnessed what you have just done with that club.
With the CB-501’s you are going to get what you give. If you strike the ball at 75% accuracy, you are going to see a quality result. The Miura CB-501’s are meant for feel and control based on top-end consistent striking. Those of you good ball strikers will walk away after hitting these clubs with satisfaction.
FEATURES:
* When the CB-501 was in development, our goal was to combine the best features from our favorite Miura irons, both past and present. Mr. Miura was striving for the ideal ball flight; enough offset to promote playability, the perfect head size, and a sole grind that would accommodate a broad range of players.
* With a sole grind that appeals to the Tour player, the 501 also possesses a design that will appeal to all levels of golfers.
* The “sweet spot” muscle back will deliver a ball flight with the trajectory of a blade.
* This style of iron also offers cavity-back forgiveness, as the contact point moves away from the center of the face.
