Overview

Virtual reality has made exciting progress over the past several years. However, developing for VR still requires expensive, specialized hardware. Thinking about how to make VR accessible to more people, a group of VR enthusiasts at Google experimented with using a Smartphone to drive VR experiences. 

The result is the Google Cardboard project. This kit is pre-assembled VR headset case for any compatible Android Smartphone and is based on the open design by Google. 

Asides from the Cardboard frame, a pair of High Quality Convex lenses are included and a magnetic push button.

This means that the two lenses the silver ring and the black ceramic magnets have been put together by Merlin so that your journey outside the box starts immediately!
