The opening downplays the citrus elements through the use of, first, petitgrain and, later, pepper.& The opening never does come across to me as a citrus accord.& The citrus / bergamot, and lemon – are there and are identifiable as citrus but the petitgrain with its green-woody-citrus nature blocks the purity of the citrus. The pepper doesn’t really hurt the citrus accord because pepper acts primarily by itself without forming alloyed accords.& Still the opening smells quite nice.
I can smell the lavender / sage combination from the heartnotes already into the opening notes.&& This accord lacks the quality of top-notch ingredients – it has the synthetic tinge that many of the designer scents have been offering for years and years now.& Still, like the opening accord, it is quite pleasant.
I enjoy the base even though I don’t think of it as a sports base.& It holds a pleasant patchouli / musk accord for a decent length of time.&
