Electronic Arts has brought yet another gem to its fans in the form of the Blazblue Continuum Shift Extend, a game meant to be played on the Xbox 360 console. A sequel to the highly acclaimed Blazblue Continuum Calamity Trigger, this game promises hours of fun. It brings back the fun of older 2D fighters that consisted of two characters fighting on a two dimensional plane. A typical match consists of one to five rounds, known in the game as ‘rebels’. To win a rebel, each player needs to inflict enough damage so that the opponent’s health gauge reads ‘0’. A player can also win if he has more health left when the round’s timer expires. As a player progresses through a rebel, a heat gauge fills up. This heat gauge can be used to make advanced moves, like Rapid Cancels, Distortion Drives, Counter Attacks, and a character’s special attacks. The heat gauge fills up whenever you inflict damage, receive damage, and block moves perfectly.
