About this product

• To prevent blood clots due to an irregular heartbeat (atrial fibrillation) or after hip or knee replacement surgery.
• It is also used to treat blood clots (as in deep vein thrombosis - or pulmonary embolism) and to prevent blood clots from forming again.
• An anticoagulant that works by blocking some of the clotting proteins in your blood.

Dosage and method of use:

• Oral as directed by a physician.
• If you are taking this medicine to prevent blood clots after knee or hip replacement surgery, the dose is usually taken once daily.
• If you are taking this medicine to prevent strokes and blood clots that may form due to an irregular heartbeat, your dose is usually taken once a day with the evening meal.
• If you are taking rivaroxaban to treat blood clots, your dose is usually twice daily for the first 3 weeks, and then once daily.
• Do not increase your dose, take it more often, or stop taking it unless told to do so.
• The 10 mg tablet may be taken with or without food.
• The 15 milligram and 20 milligram tablet should be taken with food.
• If you cannot swallow the tablets whole, you may crush the tablet and mix it with applesauce.
• Eat the entire mixture right away.
• Do not bring supplies for future use.

• Anticoagulant.
• Treatment and prevention of blood clots and stroke.
• Treatment of leg and lung clots.
