Description
The Raspberry Pi 3 Model B builds upon the features of its predecessors with a new, faster processor on board to increase its speed. It also features WiFi and Bluetooth Low Energy capabilities to enhance the functionality and the ability to power more powerful devices over the USB ports.
Raspberry Pi Foundation changed the 900 MHz quad core, 32 Bits, the BCM2836 microcontroller to the 1.2 GHz, 64 bits, quad core BCM2837. This made the Raspberry Pi 3 Model B faster than its predecessor by at least 50%. The Pi has also moved from the Cortex-A7 instruction set to the more powerful, 64 bits, Cortex-A53. Furthermore, the GPU. Both are VideoCore IV chipsets, but where the Pi 2 is clocked at 250MHz, this new one is 400MHz. Also the RAM. Both models have 1GB, both are forms of DDR2. But where the Raspberry Pi 2 has 450MHz, RAM, the Pi 3 has 900MHz RAM.
The Raspberry Pi 3 Model B has an identical form factor to the previous Raspberry Pi 2 Model B.
Finally, The Raspberry Pi 3 is just what it should be. It has smart features missing from its predecessor. For example Wi-Fi and Bluetooth, which had to be added separately before.
This is the original UK version, not the Chinese clone.
