  If your original cable wore away or broke, get the 2m cable, not the 1 m. I have an iPhone 5 and my cable was 1m long; it stopped working and wore away within a year. I bought the 2 m, as it allows you to move more and you don't have to keep pulling the mobile to get as far as it can. Also, try wrapping the cable wire ends with a transparent tape so it can live longer. It's also very useful if you want to recharge your iPhone from your laptop, so you can use the mobile and you don't have to stay beside the laptop.
