Using 3D scans of the original Anser and Anser 2 putters, personally shaped by Ping founder Karsten Solheim, the two new True Roll models closely resemble the putter model with the most victories in golf history.

Current Ping Chairman & CEO John Solheim, who helped his father build the original in their Arizona garage, explains the originals place in golfing history:

The TR 1966 models add the latest in modern putter technology and combine it with the classic Anser shapes. Using True Roll face technology they have a grooved precision-milled face design giving unmatched ball-speed consistency that is the key to holing out and reducing 3 putts.

R 1966 Anser 2

The TR 1966 Anser 2 has a stainless steel blast finish with a single white alignment line on the flange. It has less rounded contours than the TR 1966 Anser with a narrower top line.

It also weight 340g and is made from 17-4 stainless steel with a standard length of 35" and like the Anser is suitable for a slight arc stroke type.
