The 0.6:1 throw ratio lens on the X316ST Short-Throw DLP Multimedia Projector from Optomamakes it ideal for classrooms, small conferences rooms, rear projection, and other tight spaces where the projector needs to be placed relatively close to the screen. It features the XGA (1024 x 768) format, which - at a 4:3 aspect ratio - is ideal for PowerPoint and other presentations. With a brightness of 3400 lumens, combined with the short throw distance required, the X316ST provides sufficient output to overcome a reasonable amount of ambient light for use in rooms where the lighting cannot be fully controlled.
Just about every input possibility is covered on the X316ST. This includes an HDMI input with 3D support, two VGA inputs and one output, plus composite and S-video inputs for legacy SD equipment. There are two separate audio inputs to accompany the analog video inputs, and there is a VAO audio output that loops through the audio accompanying whichever input is selected. In case a separate sound system is unavailable, there is also a built-in 10-watt speaker.
An IR remote is included, featuring a laser pointer and mouse control for giving presentations. It also has RS-232 for integration with control systems such as Crestron, plus an Ethernet port for control over a local network, helping reduce IT administrative costs.
Short 0.6:1 Throw Ratio
Throw ratio is one of the most important specifications a projector lens has as it tells you the image size (width) you will get at a given distance from the screen. For example, at a 46" distance, this projector will throw an 77"-wide (96"-diagonal) image
Single-Chip DLP Technology
Uses a combination of a 0.55" chip covered in millions of micro-mirrors and a color wheel to produce an image. DLP features less spacing between pixels and better contrast than many comparable LCD-based systems
3400 Lumen Lamp
A single lamp provides 3400 lumens brightness in Normal mode, and is estimated to last 4000 hours (up to 7000 hours if continuously used in the lower brightness ECO+ mode). To determine the ideal brightness level for your application, you will need to take into account the screen width, distance from the projector to the screen (throw distance), amount of ambient light near the screen, and the reflectivity (gain) of the screen surface used
4:3 Native Aspect Ratio
This projector features the XGA format, which produces a 4:3 aspect ratio picture optimal for PowerPoint presentations and many still image formats. The wider 16:9 HDTV and 16:10 computer aspect ratios can still be displayed - either by cropping the sides of the image, "letterboxing" (filling the remaining space with black bars top and bottom), or applying an anamorphic squeeze, which distorts the picture
HDMI 1.4a Mandatory 3D Compliance
This means you can watch 3D video from most HDMI 1.4a 3D sources, including Blu-ray Discs, many computer graphics cards, and select game consoles. Active 3D glasses - such as ZD302 - available separately
Powered VGA Port
A powered VGA port enables the projector to be used with the BI-EXTBG03 wireless VGA dongle, which is available separately
Remote Mouse Control
When connected to a computer via the mini-USB type-B female port (cable available separately) it is possible to use the projector's remote to provide mouse navigation functionality. On top of that, the remote features a built-in laser pointer - effectively turning the remote into a presentation mouse
