18 megapixel APS-C CMOS sensor

Capture every detail with an APS-C sized CMOS sensor offering 18 megapixel resolution. Images can be printed at large sizes, or cropped for alternative compositions without losing quality.

Low-light shooting

Use the EOS 7D hand held in low light, without the need for flash. Sensitivities extend up to ISO 6400 (expandable to ISO 12,800).

Shoot at 8 frames per second

Shoot full-resolution images at 8 fps, and ensure you never miss that decisive moment. Capture 130 JPEG files in a single burst, or 25 images in RAW format.

Full HD movie recording

Capture Full-HD movies at 1080p, with manual control over settings such as exposure, audio level and white balance. Canon’s EF lenses provide access to cinematic effects and shooting styles.

19-point autofocus system

Focus quickly and accurately using 19 cross-type AF points, spread out in a diamond formation across the frame.

Dual “DIGIC 4” processors

A pair of “DIGIC 4” processors provide the EOS 7D with the power to deliver exceptional image quality and outstanding performance. Effective noise reduction is accompanied by smooth tonal gradation and natural reproduction of colors.

Clear View II LCD screen

Review images and navigate the camera’s menu systems using a 920,000-dot, 7.7cm (3.0”) Clear View II LCD screen. Live View composition, offering three autofocus modes, is available while shooting stills or video.

Intelligent Viewfinder

Enjoy a natural view through the EOS 7D’s viewfinder, with approximately 100 per cent viewfinder coverage and 1.0x magnification. A transparent LCD screen overlays focus information and a dual-axis electronic level ensures straight horizons.

iFCL metering system

The EOS 7D uses a 63-zone exposure metering system for accurate determination of shutter speed and aperture values. Colour and luminance information is combined with data from the camera’s AF system.

Integrated Speedlite Transmitter

Explore new creative lighting possibilities. Control up to three groups of off-camera Speedlite flashguns using the EOS 7D’s Integrated Speedlite Transmitter.

Robust construction
